Admission Criteria

Admission Criteria

Our primary goal in the admission process is to asses each applicant's level of readiness for the grade to which he or she is applying. This allows us to place students in the learning environment in which they will be most successful while at our school. Occasionally we find that BCCIS expectations of students are different from other international and local schools. Because of that all candidates seeking admission to BCCIS need to schedule an interview with our school administration, to discuss entrance placement and initial academic testing. BCCIS follows an academic year based on the northern hemisphere British Colombia Canadian curriculum. This means that school typically begins the fist week of September and runs until the third week of December. Students return for second semester in January and classes continue until end of June. While most students enter school at the beginning of each semester, we do take applications and accept students throughout the year.

Age requirements for admissions

Pre-school: three years old prior to December 31st of the year of admission. KG 1: four years old prior to December 31st of the year of admission. KG 2: five years old prior to December 31st of the year of admission.

Application schedule for transferring students

Students, who have recently arrived in Egypt, or wish to transfer to BCCIS, may submit applications and may be granted admittance at any time during the year in accordance with admissions criteria and procedures, and space available. In order to project our enrollment we ask parents to send a letter providing detailed student personal data (full name, date of birth, nationality, etc.) at least two weeks prior to the projected date of arrival. This letter must include copies of complete academic records (previous years-where applicable-including standardized test results, letters of recommendation, etc.)
